At some point in our work together, we may need access to a platform you manage — your website, Google Ads account, email marketing tool, or something else. Here's how to share that access safely, without emailing passwords or putting your accounts at risk.
Use a password manager
The safest way to share credentials is through a password manager that has a built-in sharing feature. Two we recommend:
1Password
- Open 1Password and find the login you want to share
- Click Share
- Set an expiry (7 days is plenty) and copy the link
- Send the link to your account manager
The link expires automatically — no need to remember to revoke it later.
LastPass
- Open LastPass and click the item you want to share
- Click the Share icon
- Enter [email protected]
- Uncheck “Allow recipient to view password” if you only want us to use it, not see it
Don't have a password manager?
We recommend setting one up — it's one of the best things you can do for your business security. Both 1Password and LastPass have affordable plans for small businesses.
In the meantime, if you need to share something urgently, contact your account manager and we'll find a secure method together. Please avoid sending passwords via email or text.
When we're done, revoke access
Once a project is complete or if you ever part ways with an agency or contractor, update any shared passwords immediately. We'll remind you when it's appropriate to do so.
